Hairstyles to Sleep On

Between packing a lunch and making the obligatory batch of French press, your morning routine leaves little time for your hair. To help you get your favorite looks without cutting into your commute time, we’ve created a list of five foolproof styles that you can tackle the night before—meaning all you have to do is wake up and go. Hello, beauty sleep!

Maximum Sleep = Maximum Volume

PM: Start by washing and conditioning tresses with VO5 Salon Series Full Body + Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. Gather locks into a high ponytail at the top of your head. Form this into a bun by wrapping the ponytail around its base before securing it with an elastic and bobby pins. Mist with VO5 Salon Series Perfect Hold Styling Hairspray right before bed.

AM: Remove pins and elastics and let your hair fall into loose, flowing waves. If desired, apply another mist of VO5 Salon Series Perfect Hold Styling Hairspray for extra hold.

Barrels of Beauty

PM: Apply a small amount of  Styling Gel to damp hair. Take 1-2” sections of hair and begin twisting the entire section in the direction opposite of your face, so that its shape resembles a dreadlock when finished. Once twisted, pin the curl’s ends to your head (next to the curl’s base) and repeat this process for the rest of your hair.

AM: Remove all pins and let hair fall into soft barrel curls. Use two fingers to reshape curls in a twisting motion, and spray with VO5 Salon Series Perfect Hold Styling Hairspray for extra hold.

Pony in a Pinch

PM: Shampoo and condition hair with VO5 Solution Conditioner. Blow-dry hair with a flat, round brush and, turning your head upside down, gather locks into a ponytail at the very top of your head. Secure strands loosely with an elastic.

AM: Remove elastic and shake out hair for an effortless volume boost.

Hollywood Waves

PM: Apply a small amount of VO5 Salon Series Perfect Hold Styling Gel to damp hair. Take 1” sections of hair, and as close to the base of your head as possible, begin wrapping these strands around two fingers. Remove fingers while keeping the hair in place, then pin these curls to your head. Repeat this step for the rest of your strands before bedtime.

AM: Remove all pins and gently run your fingers through your hair to form uniform “S”-shaped waves.

Beach-Ready Waves

PM: Apply a small amount of VO5 Salon Series Perfect Hold Styling Gel to damp hair. Next, begin to form a French braid by taking a section of hair at the top of your head and separating it into three subsections. With the starter braid in one hand, use your other hand to add hair to whichever subsection is nearest (e.g., add hair from the left side of your head to the left subsection). Continue this process so that all of your hair is incorporated into the braid, then secure ends with an elastic.

AM: Remove the elastic and comb fingers through hair, breaking up the braid and releasing hair into beachy, carefree waves.
